Role in the project:

WR coordinates the BrightSpace project consortium.  WR leads WP1 that defines a SJOS conceptual framework for the identification of drivers and indicators. WR leads WP7 Just space model upgrade and indicators. Just like all other partners in the consortium, WR contributes to project communication, results dissemination and exploitation in WP11. WR leads WP12 Management and Coordination that entails project governance, coordination and strategic decision making, administrative and financial project management, data management and quality control, as well as managing linkages and collaboration with related projects.

Background:

Marc Müller holds a doctoral degree in agricultural sciences from the University of Bonn, Germany, for his thesis on a general equilibrium analysis of the cotton sector in Uzbekistan. Since then, he has developed databases and simulation models for agricultural economic analyses in a variety of regional and organizational contexts, including climate-change related research projects in West Africa and database compilations for the European Commission. He worked at the FAO in Rome between 2015 and 2019, where he carried out long-term projections for food-demand and -supply at global scale until 2050. His main expertise is in linking bio-physical and agro-economic models and the consolidation of heterogeneous datasets. In September 2019, Marc Müller started working at Wageningen Economic Research as Microeconomist and Model Developer. He works on the development of farm-level models for analyses of the EU’s common agricultural policies under changing environmental conditions.
