BrightSpace was presented in a Brussels workshop of Horizon funded projects clustering in the topic of models and tools supporting agriculture policies, organized by EC DG AGRI on 25 October 2023.
8 R&I projects funded under Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe being in various stages of completion were presented to representatives of the relevant projects and policymakers from across the European Commission services (DG AGRI, DG ENV, DG JRC, DG CLIMA, DG TRADE, DG INTPA, DG SANTE in particular). The objectives of the workshop were to ensure policy feedback by presenting and discussing the projects, their results and research needs with policymakers; and foster networking and collaboration between the projects and with policymakers. The results of all these projects will feed into the policy discussions on the future CAP beyond 2027.
Advances in methodological approach & data, scenario assumptions and results key evidence-based policy implications of finishing projects: MIND STEP, AGRICORE and BESTMAP developing models to support agriculture-related policies were discussed.
Ongoing projects: BATModel, MATS and TRADE4SD developing toolbox to support agricultural trade policy were presented, results and research needs discussed with policymakers.
BrightSpace and LAMASUS were presented as the newest projects supporting policies related to agriculture: objectives of the project and research questions; design of the project, with focus on methodological approach; and data needs were discussed.
