3rd BrightSpace COMDISS Meeting │ 28 June 2024, Online

The third BrightSpace Communication, Dissemination, and Exploitation (COMDISS) meeting took place on 28 June 2024, with a highly productive 60-minute session.

The meeting was attended by project coordinators Hans van Meijl and Marc Müller, along with WP11 COMDISS Officers and their substitutes to discuss the progress and strategies related to project communication and dissemination of results.

Key Topics Discussed:
I) Project Communication

Assessment of External Communication: An open discussion addressed how to enhance the flow of information from project partners to the BrightSpace Central Communications Office.
Suggestions included reducing intermediaries and sending direct updates to the central office. Regular reminders were proposed as a solution to streamline this process.

Role of COMDISS Officers: Project coordinator, Marc Müller emphasized the importance of having one designated COMDISS Officer per organization to manage communication. This ensures a clear point of contact for gathering and submitting communication items efficiently.

New Internal Reporting System: The meeting introduced an updated system for reporting COMDISS activities using online Office Forms, replacing the former Excel workbooks. This new system is designed to better align with the European Commission’s Grant Management reporting requirements, simplifying the quarterly reporting of communication and dissemination activities for BrightSpace partners.

Adjusting COMDISS KPIs: The team discussed the need to align COMDISS Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with the actual activities of partners and the EC Grant Management System’s reporting categories. A relational database of basic activities linked to KPIs is being developed and will be reviewed by COMDISS Officers in September.

II) Results Dissemination and Exploitation:

Preparation for Results Dissemination: Plans for disseminating results after deliverables are approved by the EC were discussed, alongside the preparation for an exploitation strategy.

Journal Papers and Exploitation Workshops: WP-level COMDISS Officers contributed input on journal papers under preparation, and a timeline for the exploitation strategy was reviewed, and plans for upcoming exploitation workshops at consortium meetings were presented.

Many thanks to all participants for their valuable contributions!
