The BrightSpace WP12 Executive Board (EB) met online on 25 March 2025 to reflect on the project’s recent Annual Meeting in Cremona and to coordinate follow-up actions across work packages, stakeholder engagement, and exploitation activities.
The Board highlighted the Annual Meeting (10–12 March, Cremona, Italy) as a major success, noting the high level of interaction, strong organisation by the hosting team from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, and valuable exchanges with the Project Officer and representatives from DG AGRI. Discussions during the event helped clarify next steps in addressing the recommendations from the Reporting Period 2 (RP2) review.
Building on this, the Executive Board reviewed the recommendations from the RP2 evaluation. Work Package leaders have been tasked with providing targeted clarifications and responses to the review comments, ensuring alignment with the project’s work plan while identifying any areas that may require additional effort. With the deadline for revised deliverables set for 30 April 2026, partners were encouraged to begin the revision process promptly.
Stakeholder engagement planning also remains a priority. Preparations continue for upcoming activities, including the third stakeholder retreat and the fourth thematic seminar, which will further strengthen dialogue and co-creation processes within the BrightSpace community.
A key focus of the meeting was the project’s approach to Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation (CDE). The Board discussed practical considerations around pre-publication of research outputs, including the use of platforms such as Zenodo, and the importance of aligning with journal requirements. In parallel, partners reviewed the current list of Key Exploitable Results (KERs), agreeing on the need to prioritise a smaller number of clearly defined, high-impact outputs that are concrete, reusable, and policy-relevant. Work is now underway to refine this list and ensure compliance with European Commission expectations for post-project uptake.
While detailed Work Package progress had already been covered during the Annual Meeting, the Board confirmed key upcoming milestones, including the delivery of major outputs (D3.2, D4.2, and MS4) by the end of April, and a series of events throughout 2026 to present and discuss BrightSpace results with scientific, policy, and stakeholder audiences.
The next WP12 Executive Board meeting will take place on 22 April 2025 and will focus on planning the project’s Final Conference.
