On April 22, the BrightSpace Executive Board convened an online meeting with Work Package (WP) leaders to review overall project progress and align on upcoming priorities and strategic next steps.
The coordinator provided an update on the 6th SPAB meeting. Key recommendations from the SPAB were highlighted, in particular the importance of strengthening engagement with European Commission services through targeted dissemination activities. In addition, the SPAB advised that modelling scenarios should reflect the implications of recent geopolitical developments expected to persist towards 2050, including factors such as increased energy prices and the potential long-term impact of trade measures such as Trump-era tariffs.
Attention then shifted to the upcoming deliverables due by the end of April, including the status of resubmissions. Partners discussed the necessary actions to ensure timely completion and quality assurance across all outputs.
In terms of stakeholder engagement, it was confirmed that the next BrightSpace stakeholder community event will take place as an online thematic seminar scheduled for late autumn 2026, continuing the project’s approach to inclusive and iterative stakeholder dialogue.
The meeting also covered communication, dissemination, and exploitation activities. The next project newsletter is planned for publication by the end of May, and partners were reminded that enhanced dissemination efforts are required across all consortium members to support effective exploitation of results. Work is currently underway on the prioritisation of key exploitable results and the development of the first exploitation-ready result bundles, which will be reported in Reporting Period 3 (November 2026).
Finally, partners briefly discussed preparations for the project’s closing event, which is envisaged to take place in late September 2027 in Brussels, marking the culmination of BrightSpace activities and presenting key project achievements to stakeholders and policy audiences.
