Towards a safe and just operating
space for EU agriculture

WP11 meeting online, 24 March 2025

The latest WP11 meeting, held online on March 24, 2025, covered key updates on stakeholder engagement, capacity building, communication, and exploitation.

A major focus was the upcoming stakeholder webinar, “Animal Welfare in a Safe and Just Operating Space for European Agriculture,” scheduled for April 3, 2025, followed by an internal reflection session on April 4. Invitations are being circulated, with efforts to engage a broad audience.

The 2nd Stakeholder Retreat, planned for Autumn 2025, is under discussion.

Capacity-building activities are progressing, with the CAPRI Developer Seminar recently held in Berlin, a CAPRI-related Master module at Berlin University open to external participants, and several upcoming training sessions, including a Summer School on Advanced Modelling Techniques for Land-Use & Policy Analysis in June 2025 in Laxenburg, as well as an AGMEMOD training session in The Hague.

Networking efforts, as part of capacity building, continue with four AMYRN scholarships already approved and more applications expected.

In communication & dissemination efforts, reflection paper on the EU Agri Vision is in progress. The BrightSpace website now features a new “Platform” section dedicated to stakeholder engagement and capacity-building activities, and partners are encouraged to contribute event participation details and update COM-DISS reporting. An autumn WP11 session will focus on exploitation strategies. The next WP11 meeting is scheduled for May 26, 2025.
