BrightSpace WP11 Bi-Monthly Meeting Reviews Progress and Upcoming Milestones

The BrightSpace consortium held its WP11 bi-monthly meeting on 24 November (10:30–12:00), the first since July due to the cancellation of the September session, which coincided with the 2nd Stakeholder Retreat. Partners reviewed progress across stakeholder engagement, capacity building, communication, and exploitation activities as Reporting Period 2 draws to a close.

The discussion opened with reflections on the successful Stakeholder Retreat, “The Crystal Ball – Futures of EU Agriculture”, held on 23–24 September in Leuven. Participants emphasised the importance of involving a wider range of stakeholder groups in future events, with a dedicated Task Force to be established early in 2026 to prepare targeted communications in preparations for the next in-person retreat planned for 2027.

Updates on capacity building included news from IIASA about the joint LAMASUS–BrightSpace–Tools4CAP Summer School, set for 8–12 June 2026 in Laxenburg. Applications opened today and will remain open until 31 January 2026, with places limited to 30 participants.

Since July, WP11 communication activities have been particularly dynamic. Highlights include the publication of the joint ACT4CAP27-BrightSpace-LAMASUS perspective paper on Zenodo and related BrightSpace policy brief in July, strong BrightSpace representation at the EAAE Congress in August (news item 1 / news item 2), extensive communication of the September Stakeholder Retreat in Leuven, release of new videos and interviews: with the project coordinator, with WP5 leader and WP10 leader, publication of several peer-reviewed open access articles, and the communication of the submission of six project deliverables to the EC at the end of October. November also brought global outreach at the 18th IAMC Meeting in Brazil, new open-access publications, and continued collaboration with other Horizon Europe projects. Work is now underway on the December newsletter and the COM-DISS report for RP2.

The meeting concluded with a brief check-in on exploitation activities, which currently focus on updating the exploitation plan and preparing RP2 reporting. WP11 partners will reconvene early next year to continue coordinating engagement, communication, and impact-driven activities across the project.
