BrightSpace partners met today to review progress under WP10, with a strong focus on advancing the project’s transition narratives. The discussion centred on how recent stakeholder feedback has been integrated following the September retreat, with clear convergence emerging around the strategic direction of the work.
An update was shared on the current status of Deliverable 10.1, confirming steady progress and alignment with Task 10.1 objectives. Partners also worked through the remaining design choices for the four transition narratives and agreed on the final steps toward a first complete working version, ahead of internal peer review.
The revised narratives now capture four distinct future pathways for the EU agri-food system:
- Go Global – prioritising global markets, competitiveness and affordability through open trade 🌍
- Fortress EU – focusing on self-sufficiency, high-yield production and reshoring 🚧
- Food Sovereignty – embedding sustainability, local value chains and responsible consumption 🌱
- Sustainable Competitiveness – combining high environmental standards with values-based global trade 🤝
The meeting marked an important step towards consolidating these scenarios into coherent, policy-relevant narratives that will support upcoming stakeholder engagement and foresight work.
