On 17 June 2025, BrightSpace partners convened for a focused online workshop aimed at strengthening the connection between Work Package 3 (WP3) and the Pillar II modelling activities of the project. The meeting followed up on Deliverable D3.1, which identified a broad portfolio of empirical studies designed to generate policy-relevant evidence and improve the representation of real-world dynamics in the large-scale models used across BrightSpace.
The goal of the session was to explore how the results of these empirical efforts can be best integrated into macro-scale modelling frameworks over the coming months. Small group discussions provided space for partners to align timelines, clarify methodological linkages, and coordinate data-sharing needs.
WP3 activities span a wide range of policy-relevant themes, which will feed into the Pillar II modelling frameworks, including CAPRI, GLOBIOM, and MAGNET, helping ensure that model scenarios reflect diverse real-world dynamics in food consumption, farm management, and biodiversity outcomes.
The workshop concluded with a shared action list to guide integration efforts and maximise synergies between micro-level insights and macro-level projections—advancing BrightSpace’s aim of supporting a Safe and Just Operating Space for EU agriculture.
